Oracle Update

Former Member

Hello,

I'm trying to update my Oracle DB 11.2.0.3 with the SBP patch SAP11203P_1309-20009977.ZIP

I've changed the oracle_home variable to -->  setenv ORACLE_HOME /oracle/<DBSID>/11203

I´ve executed correctly the MOPatch in documentation mode.

Then when I want to execute MOPatch to install. I´ve declared:

-ORACLE_HOME = /oracle/SID/112_64

-There must be no processes running from the Oracle Home

-slibclean

I get this first error and after that I cannot update the different patches.

Processing patch "SAP11203P_1309-20009977.zip!SBP_112037_201309!16619892!13343438"...(1 of 98)

The symbolic link is created in the opposite way.

You may apply the patch as I have suggested above.

Then I must to change the direction of symbolic link? How can change? When I was reading the man I thought this was the best way.

Could you verify me that the lsnrctl is stopped correctly? I´ve executed the script stopdb to stop db.

just check if any Listener  process is running..

ps -aef | grep LIS

ps -aef | grep ora<sid>

OR with command : lsnrctl status

best regards

Dont change that now. I believe that /oracle/SID/112_64 is a file system.

df -g /oracle/SID/112_64

For sure there is not listener running under that user but for you to be sure check it from the OS level.

ps -ef | grep -i tnslsnr

Yes, it´s a filesystem. It`s doesn't matter the direction?

I´ve executed ps -ef | grep -i tnslsnr and I get -->

orasid 8519688 8913044   0 19:01:29  pts/0  0:00 grep -i tnslsnr

I must to kill the process 8519688 it's not?

There is no listener running.

As suggested you may continue with the bundle patch installation.

Hello Reagan,

It's necessary to stop oracle database and listener, I´m installing the oracle database and update them in the middle of an installation.

yes, no oracle should be running including listener.

If the database is running under a different ORACLE_HOME (eg: /oracle/SID/102_64) then there is no need to stop the database and listener.

The database is running in ORACLE_HOME  /oracle/SID/112_64, then I need to declare the oracle_home to  /oracle/SID/11203?

I´ve tried to stop listener with lsnrctl status

and the database with stopsap db

there should be a link.. where does /oracle/SID/112_64 points ?  11023 ?

if yes, its same thing.

you need to stop everything under ORACLE_HOME means database & linstener.

lsitener is stopped with command : lsntctl stop <LISTENER_NAME>

The path /oracle/SID/112_64 should be a symbolic link to /oracle/SID/11203

In your case you will need to stop the database and listener to patch the bundle patches.

Hi Ruben,

It looks to me as a problem with the zip file SAP11203P_1309-20009977.zip.

Could you download one more time and copy the same in binary format to the server.

Hope this helps.

Deepak Kori

you should use updated version of OPatch and MOpatch.

unzip SAP11203P_1309-20009977.zip in a separate directory. This will contain new OPatch & MOpatch directories. please take a backup of your old OPatch+MOpatch and replace those with new one.

after this, start Mopatch again.

Thanks ashish,

I´ve updated the MOPatch and Opatch with the last patch from SMP, and I backup the previous version.
