Packing issues

Dear all,

For some of the deliveries the packing is automatic through job run.For some other deliveries with same plant ,warehouse number packing is not automatic ,so every user needs to do the packing manually Susmita

Dear Susmitha,

You may want to check if all of your settings are ok.

E.g. are you having the problem with the same delivery types? Is Automatic packing V_TVLK-AVERP set for the concerned delivery type?

Basically it is necessary  to set a packaging material type and a material group for packing and have it assigned to material of the packing type.

Additional customising setting are needed for the automatic packing during delivery creation:

1. SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> Logistic execution -> Shipping -> Deliveries -> Define Item Categories for Deliveries
   Transaction OVLP
   Packing controll for the delivery item category V_TVLP-PCKPF is blank, which means packing is allowed.
2. SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> Logistic execution -> Shipping -> Deliveries -> Define delivery Types
   Transaction OVLK
   Automatic packing V_TVLK-AVERP set for the delivery type.
3. SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> Logistics - General -> Handling Unit Management ->> Automatic packing -> Maintain Packing Transaction Profile
   Transaction OVHU2
   Packing transaction profile: e.g. 0002 Outbound delivery -> Detail
   Determination procedure for packing instructions (V_CHUPDPARA1-COND_SCHEME): e.g. 000001 pack in shipping set
4. SAP Menu -> Logistics -> Sales and Distribution -> Master Data -> Agreements -> Pack -> Packing Instructions -> POP3 - Display
   Transaction POP3
5. SAP Menu -> Logistics -> Sales and Distribution -> Master Data -> Agreements -> Pack -> Packing Instructions -> Determination Records -> POF3 - Display
   Transaction POF3

Are you seeing same behaviour for same article ,Background it is packing and manual is not packing ?.If the materials are different there must be masterdata issue .Check transactions POP1 and POF1 whether packing instructions maintained are not.

Hi all,

This issue is not occuring at material specific becuase for the same material some deliveries are being packed automatically and some deliveries are to packed manually with same materials

Hi Susmita

you should do configure the packing process.

Packing instruction contains packing material and finished goods . so packing instruction has trigger in the delivery document.

Hi,

the question is missing....

If you are asking why....the reason is probably due to the fact that the packaging instructions are missing for those materials.
