Legal control and Export Declaration without Material Master in GTS

Dear Gurus,

We have a business case where dedicated material masters cannot be maintained for each Product in ECC and GTS. So we maintain generic material masters (one for each HS code and ECCN combination) and re-use these Material Masters in Outbound Delivery in ECC, while over-writing the attributes like Description with actual product description Etc at the line item of the Outbound Delivery. When the OBD is transferred to GTS, we want GTS to retain the attributes from the Delivery line items instead of going back to the generic material masters and thus over-writing the attributes already inherited from Delivery. We are afraid that if we press Refresh button, standard GTS may revert to generic MM-s and over-write the info from Delivery. Could you please suggest suitable BADI or other enhancement spots in GTS within Legal Control and Export Declaration to bypass the standard checks on Material Master

Many thanks for your insights

Regards

Hi Dipankar,

Well, what do you mean by "product description etc."?  The description should be copied into the billing document and taken over to the GTS Export Declaration without any problem.  What else are you trying to retain, under the "etc." banner?

Hi Dave

Thanks a lot for your response. The export declaration will inherit the description from Proforma, however, if I want to have the same product Description in Legal Control document (created out of OBD) , then pls advise how we can make this work

Regarding the other attributes, our generic material (one per combination of HS code and ECCN) will be maintained in ECC & GTS and classified in GTS. So, classification information will be available from GTS itself in both LC and Exp Dec from the material masters. For exceptional cases, if we change the HS code in Delivery line item,  we need to ensure this is retained in LC and Exp Dec

Hope this clarifies my query. Thanks again for your insights
