Technical Monitoring - System Monitoring

Dear all,

I have a question concerning the possibility to connect a custom build WebDynpro ABAP component as an alternative to the current standard systems overview.

When you select all required systems and choose 'system monitoring - start embedded'  the user will see an overview of the status of the systems. This overview appears to be an Adobe.

I would like to know if it is possible - perhaps via BAdi or implicte enhancement - to direct the user instead to a custom WD4A screen. Possibly enhance the menubar with a custom button leading to the custom screen?

I have a hard time finding the right spot to handover the (sap standard) collected sytem monitoring data to a custom WB4A screen.

Also I'm not sure if SAP intended for us to enhance this particular monitor.... It is so generic that I have a hard time grasping the framework behind it. 🙂

I would be gratefull for any directions, advise.

As for the Why?

We have some 800 systems. The current standard overview is to elaborate. Too much information for our technicians. We need to display the status of all 800 system on 5 big screen monitors - with only minor functionality. We just need to see: systemname - description - status - warninglights.

So the planned custom Webdynpro will pack as many as possible systems in order to fit on these  big screens.

I think the easiest way to achieve that is to look at the web service used by the SAP Solution Manager Technical Monitoring widget and reuse that or parts of it.

Hi,

I am not sure exactly how can get the details for system monitoring , But I could sense you are just looking for better display option in overview page.

There are some UI personalisation options available ( have you seen the sap note 1160651) other than that normally we do simple personalisation using the mode sap-config-mod=X .

or you could use CRM UI customizing tools  EEWB also used.
