Maintenance Calls

Can someone please explain to me the process that a maintenance call must go through to become confirmed, and what it means for a maintenance call to be confirmed?

Greetings Cameron,

See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_wp/helpdata/en/3c/abb495413911d1893d0000e8323c4f/content.htm

A Maintenance call is initially scheduled. This means that from the Maintenance Plan cycle, scheduling parameters, call horizon and scheduling period the dates are determined on which the call object (usually an Order) is due to be called i.e. created in the system. In IP10, You can fine-tune this by fixing a call to a date other than scheduled. Also, you may call the nearest call object immediately by releasing the call (green flag), which is created as soon as you save ("Save to call" status).

Once the call is in the Called status, there is only one more step you can do: At any point, you may confirm or complete the call. This is done automatically when you (technically) complete the Order, or it can be done manually prior to that, by selecting the chequered flag in IP10. This is only relevant if you use the completion requirement indicator, or shifts & tolerances on your Maintenance Plan.

This confirmation will allow the Maintenace Plan to be scheduled assuming that the planned/preventive maintenance was performed and completed, even if there are delays in posting the TECO status on the Order for some reason. But normally it will not be a necessary step.

For the future reference, you will probably get more and better answers for Plant Maintenance topics, if you post to the EAM space:
