The issue occurred during the extraction of the Oracle Instant Client files.

Check whether there is sufficient space available on /oracle/client

ls -la /oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient_10204

Hi,

Have you check the below note if you have tried the above suggestion.

1257481 - SAP NetWeaver Inst. Based on Kernel 7.11: IBM DB2 for i

1249469 - SAP NetWeaver Based On Kernel 7.11: Windows (Obsolete)

If you install an additional application server instance to an existing SAP system, you must perform a domain installation. Also make sure that your existing SAP system was installed as a domain installation. If your SAP system was installed as a local installation and you want to later change to a domain installation, you must perform a homogeneous system copy.

-------------------------<18/DEC/09, D034879>-------------------
Replace control.xml to fix various errors.
You get an error message like one of the following:

FSL-02015  Node /oracle/client/10x_64/.created_by_SAPinst/instantclient_10204/libclntsh.so does not exist.

To solve the problem, replace the control.xml file with the respective control.xml file attached to this SAP Note.

  • For SAP system installations use the control.xml file in the  attachment control.zip.
  • For diagnostics agent installations use the control.xml file in the attachment control_diagnostics_agent.zip.

Proceed as described in SAP Note 1420809.

I know that the below notes are not relevant for you as you are going on RHEL but it still can be an issue with the control.xml.

What version of SWPM or sapinst you are using.

1420809 - Inst. with SAPinst: How to patch a control.xml file

Hi Reagan,

Space is available on the /oracle file system.

As per the mentioned note, i called up genezi tool. I received the same error, though the file is available.

[root@rhelsap64 instantclient_10204]# ./genezi -v

./genezi: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

[root@rhelsap64 instantclient_10204]# cd /oracle/client/

[root@rhelsap64 client]# ls -la /oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient_10204

total 95436

drwxr-x--- 2 root sapinst     4096 Nov 18 09:08 .

drwxr-x--- 4 root sapinst     4096 Nov 18 09:08 ..

-r-xr-xr-x 1 root sapinst    72016 Oct  6  2010 genezi

-r-xr-xr-x 1 root sapinst 21009698 Oct  6  2010 libclntsh.so.10.1

-r--r--r-- 1 root sapinst  1989259 Oct  6  2010 ojdbc6.jar

The environment variable which i am entering for "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" is:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/oracle/DMO/102_64/lib/:/sapmnt/DMO/exe - hope this is precise.

thanks,

pavan.

The file libclntsh.so is not present in that location.

Try this and see if that helps.

chmod -R a+rwx /oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient_10204

cd /oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient_10204

ln -s libclntsh.so.10.1 libclntsh.so

What is the error now ?

Did you restart the sapinst after that ?

If that doesn't help then download the 11G Oracle Instant Client and use it

So download the 11G Oracle Instant Client and extract the archive to this location and see whether it helps.

I hope you are running sapinst with root.

Did you had anything stored in /oracle/client before starting installation ?

move all files in /oracle/client/10x_64 to say backup_10x_64 and start sapinst again.

Hi ashish,

yes, with root privileges.
No, nothing like that.

thanks
