User-Defined Message Search on Archived Messages

Former Member

Hi All,

We have requirement to perform User-Defined Message Search on AEX for Archived Messages.

Message retention in Data Base of AEX is only 24 hours, and after that all the messages will be archived. So need to perform this search on archived messages.

Is there way to configure the Index for all the archived messages ?

Appriciate your reply.

Regards

Praveen.

Hi Praveen,

Plz check below: doc for that:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/b2dfe56b156ff4e10000000a42189b/content.htm

In the message monitor, choose the Database tab or the Archive tab to start searching for persisted or archived messages.

Before starting the advanced search, you can also set the basic search options. Thus you can restrict the results only to messages with a specific status within a specific time period.

HI Gagandeep,

Yes help document says that, but search is not working for archived messages.

Few questions:

1. Does Indexing in Configure User defined message search does Indexing of Archived messages?

2. Is there any other configuration which I'm missing to achive this functionality.

Praveen,

Inoroder to archive messages in Java Stack you need to use XML DAS Adminstration in NWA.

Please go through below links, hope it will help you.

1. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/D0/2241B01DF54C13AFECF0B7CD0070E9/content.htm

3. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/4b/a0aca1c95c63a3e10000000a42189c/frameset.htm

How to access XML DAS Adminstration.

Goto NWA--> Operations--> Data and Database--> XML DAS Adminstration

Hi Sriprasad,

Thanks for the links, But I see XML DAS Administration is already done by our Basis guys, and we are able to see the Archived messages.

But user defined message search on Archived message using a filter is not returning any messages.

Same is working for messages which are still in Database.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Praveen,

First thing please check below parameters are set or not which is mentioned in the below troubleshooting guide

Link:

  http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e088cec0-700d-2f10-5a86-d11bed0b9...

Parameters:

" These time values are defined in milliseconds [ms], where 300000 [ms] equals 5

[min], and 2592000000 [ms] equals 30 days. The relevant SAP Note is 791379 - XI

Adapter Service Properties Documentation.

How to set the storage period:

For processed asynchronous messages, specify this period (in ms) in SAP

NetWeaver Administrator  Configuration Management  Infrastructure  Java

System Properties  Services  XPI Adapter: XI

Properties: xiadapter.inbound.persistDuration.default and

xiadapter.outbound.persistDuration.default.

For synchronous messages, specify this period (in minutes) in SAP NetWeaver

Administrator  Configuration Management  Infrastructure  Java System

Properties  Services  XPI Service: Messaging System

messaging.syncMessageRemover.checkInterval.

"

Second thing what I have observed when we search for messages using UDMS is time frame you are giving to search the messages( that is start and end time ).

Lesser the time difference or time frame more the chances of getting messages. So my suggestion is to just give a try by searching the message with minimal timeframe( within couple of hours )

Hope this helps..!

Shri

Hi SriPrasad,

We have xiadapter.outbound.persistDuration = 86400000 (24 Hours). After which messages will be archived and will be available for 30 days.

I tried the option of short time periods(which I think is time dependent search not the UDMS) but still not messages come up with the value I give in the search criteria.

Note: We are on Decentral Adapter Engine this is the best we can have for persist duration. Not any ms more than this.
