Hi,

SAP doesn't really approve machine builds, but our products do have compatibility recommendations:

www.service.sap.com/pam

BI4.1 supported platforms document is here: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/507d3365-009b-3010-04b0-e5abc8f00... https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000494342013E

You need to go to the 'appendix'

it broadly says for bare minimum:

  • Dual Core CPU
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 4Gb of space.

I'd recommend 4-8GB RAM if possible.

there's also information contained in that document above  for Flash, Office, middleware drivers, Browsers etc.

Regards,

H

In addition,  you may want to consider running a virtual machine in the cloud, such as Amazon EC2. That way you dont have the software running on your laptop and you only pay for what you use, so it could be a cost effective solution. But it's difficult to gauge, as you don't really specify what you are planning to install. Anyway - just a thought.

it depends on Processor, Ram etc not by brand.

5S series configuration is good for BI4,
