Hi Experts,
What are the Derivation rules in SAP - COPA and can I get few business examples where and when can we use these.
I know some derivation rules like,Table Lookup, Clear, Move, Enahancement etc. But I don't have clear Idea on that.
Thanks,
KBR
Hi ,
Derivation rule like suppose you have 10 manufacturing plant . following Exm
This
derivation rule is created to derive source plant from manufacturing plant for
manufacturing plant sale. Costing key is derived based on the source plant. So
that cost breakup (cost components) of the source plant will be posted in COPA.
This
derivation rule is created to derive source plant from valuation type for depot
sale. In case of depot materials will be maintained at split valuation and
valuation type will be sender plant. , there is requirement to get contribution
margin based on the sender plant for sale from depot. To meet this requirement
costing key is derived based on the source plant so that cost breakup of sender
plant will be posted in COPA.
Derivation of transport Zone
from Customer Master
As the transport zone is customer defined
characteristic, it needs to be derived. This derivation rule is created to
derive transport zone from customer master data so that it can be populated in
COPA document at the time of sale.
