PI - File name scheme .csv

Hi All,

First I must declare that I am a PI newbie.

I have created a simple PI scenario to pick up a file 'FILE_EXTRACT' from sap server (AL11), and to send this to the relevant receiver. I created 2 communication channels i.e. Sender and Receiver, and in Sender in the 'File Name Scheme' field I have entered my file name i.e. 'FILE_EXTRACT'. Everything works beautifully, when I create my file on AL11 it is picked up and sent to Receiver.

I have now made a simple change to the file by adding an extension, so my file on AL11 is now named 'FILE_EXTRACT.CSV', and I changed the 'File Name Scheme' also to 'FILE_EXTRACT.CSV'. All of the other settings I have kept the same. The problem is now it does not work! I create a file on AL11 and it isn't picked up by my PI scenario?

I have tried to change 'File Name Scheme' to 'FILE_EXTRACT*' and various other combinations, but to no avail. aaarrgggghhh.

Kind regards,

Glen.

Hi Glen,

Heu... in your Sender Agreement, you are well using the same CC than before ?

coz if by hazard, you created a new Communication Channel without affecting it in Sender Agreement that could explain why your file is not pick-up by PI...

else check log of Communication Channel Monitoring. Do you have error message ?

http://xxxxxxxx:nnnnn/mdt/channelmonitorservlet

always in Communication Channel Monitoring, try "STOP" and then "START" your CC. what's happen ?

if ok, it's perhaps because in your Communication Channel, you have Polling = 0s. so CC is run only once, without other polling. So in fact your CC is like stopped!

else maybe you have a CPA cache issue with your Adapter Engine. Clean it.

http://xxxxxxxx:nnnnn/CPACache/refresh?mode=full

http://xxxxxxxx:nnnnn/CPACache/refresh?mode=delta

you can find this option in your PI web page, link "Administration", then tab "Runtime" and option "data cache".

Hello,

Mickael is correct. Usually when changing settings for the file sender communication channel, it is best to turn it off in RWB then make your changes to the cc and then turn it on again in rwb.

Mark

hi Glen,

There could be multiple problems. Can you please send screenshots of the sender agreement and sender channel?

Do agree with Michael and Mark to stop and start the channel.

Apologies all. Shortly after I posted the question I realised my mistake and deleted my question... I hadn't realised it had gone live.

I found th eissue was in the Integrated Configuration section, as I had also made a change to the naming convention of the Communication Channels and not updated this... so for some reason it got itself into a knot. I have subsequently recreated the Integrated Configuration and all is working well and I am now happy.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Glen,

That's bit strange . Any way , please provide screen shot of sender communication channel monitor audit logs.

Note :you will get audit logs in communication channel monitoring
