How to append data to multi-valued field in tuple structure

HI all,

I just wanted to know how we can implement to append data to a multi-valued field in tuple structure by using MDM Import Manager.

I configured each setting as below, however existing data is replaced with new value.

Configuration options:

  • Default multi-valued update - Append
  • Default tuple update/Existing records option - Update (All Mapped Fields)

In Map Fields/Values Tab:

  • Set Multi-Valued Update - not available, cannot select any options
  • Set Matching Tuple Fileds/Existing records - Update (All Mapped Fields)

It seems that update setting for tuple is stronger than lower level of setting... Can anybody tell how to activate "Append" option for the multi-valued field in tuple?

Thank you and regards,

Waka

All,

Thank you for your input.

Here is the screen shot what I am implementing. The option menu for Multi-valued update is not available. The field I wanted to configure is implemented under tuple structure.

Hi Waka,

Try doing 2 changes -

1.If you are using flat file for import, please have 1 row more for each repetition like TS2,TS1 etc.

2.Map that to Tuple and set Tuple update.Currently you are mapping to non repeating field.

Thanks,

Hi Waka,

If I understood the question correct, The Multi-Valued Update options would not be enabled until and unless the destination field is mapped to the Source field

Please follow  the below  steps:

1. The source field should be mapped to Multi valued destination field in the Map Fields/Values Tab
2. Right click on the Multivalued destination field of the Tuple
3. select Set Multi-Valued Update option
4. All the options (Append,Replace,Inherit Default) should be enabled now.
5. Select the Append and Import
6. All the values would appended to that field successfully

Please do update your findings.

Thank you,
Pradeep Kumar.
