Hello Experts,
o We would like to add following descriptive characteristics(including priority) while releasing forecast from DP to SNP.
Planning Product | Location | Region |
| Priority rating |
o Apart from “priority” all other characteristics will be part of the CVC in DP. Using some formula we would prioritize each demand element against each CVC.We would also assign priority rating to each CVC demand value. We are planning to use navigational attributes to store this priority rating against each CVC’s.
o This priority can be 1 to 1000 number rating (infact more than 1000 can be possible if demand element is high in DP) for each CVC demand element in DP.
o Now we will release forecast to SNP with all above four characteristics (priority rating number is one of them).
o In CTM we want planning to be happen based on this priority rating characteristics.
Now we have two basic query.
1. We are not sure how would we attach priority rating as descriptive characteristics when we will release forecast from DP to SNP.
2. Since “priority rating” is not standard field to do demand prioritization in CTM, we are not sure how this can be used it in CTM. In other words,CTM should do the supply network plan (capacity plan) based on priority rating given say from 1 to 1000(it might have happen CTM will ended up fulfilling demand till 700th priority rating demand order- for rest of the 300 numbers of order it cannot fulfill demand)
This is very critical demand for the client, if you could give us some direction/advise on this.
Thanks for your help.
Best Regards
Abhimanyu
Hello Abhimanyu
I understand, Priority Rating is a kind of priority or ranking for Product/Location/Customer Combination.
In one of my past project we had used Descriptive Characteristic "Customer". Meaning forecast used to be released at Product + Location + Customer level in SNP. So all the requirements(forecast or sales orders) will show the details of Material + Location + Customer in SNP Pbook.
As you may know Customer Master in ECC has a field called "Delivery Priority" which was used to prioritize demand in the CTM as well.
Delivery priority is defaulted from the customer master into the sales order line item level. This was used so that the sales order when transferred to APO can have the right delivery priority so that CTM / BOP can prioritize demand appropriately. Delivery Priority was transferred(CIFed) from ECC into APO.
Delivery Priority in ECC was termed as Demand Priority in APO was used as field in Sort profile in CTM and BOP.
Hope this will give you some insight.
Thank you
