Hello,

Please have a look at in SAP Notes:

553953 - RZ20: Monitoring background jobs
636976 - RZ20: Problems in job monitoring
1912122 - Background Job Monitoring is not working in RZ20
1138223 - CCMS: New Monitoring for Long-Running Batch Jobs

You can configure a background work process for this instance or move the background monitor context to a segment on an instance for which a background work process does always exist and after this reset this monitor segment to WARMUP status. Please also check if there is enough MTE space available for this. (731165 - RZ20: CCMS parameters for segment control)

To get mail from the alet the autoreaction method should be configured:

176492 - Automatic email when an alert occurs (RZ20)

617547 -  RZ20: Sending alerts as mail and SMS

hi,

apart from this you can even have SAP CPS by Redwood which is tool, CPS - Central Process Scheduling with which you can define, monitor the jobs and also configure the alerts on various status of jobs like Dispatched, Active, Cancelled etc.... In this tool you can define the Job name and list users as recipients for the alerts.

Just check on this link, may be helpful:

Hi,

Note 553953 explains in details how to monitore specific jobs. After that you should configure the autoreaction metohd as described on the following online help:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/2c/abb2e7ff6311d194c000a0c93033f7/content.htm

And finally, you should assign this method to the MTE in:

RZ20

   SAP CCMS Monitor Templates

      Background Processing

         System Wide

             Background

               Background Job Monitoring

                  <the job name>

Select the Status one and click on Properties -> Methods and assign the method you have created.
