Setup Technical Monitoring - Alternative-Name

Hi experts,

I am currently working on setting up technical monitoring in solman_setup.

Our ERP (ECC) System is having 3 servers.

SRVA, SRVB and SRVC

SRVA is also having an alternative (pseudo) name SRV1.

This name is also seeable in LMDB of host SRVA (Alternative Servernames SRV1).

On all systems DAA is installed and I have assigned the DAA to the servers A, B and C in solman_setup->Managed System Configuration.

In host list I can also see SRV1 - but there I can't assign the DAA (I think because it is already assigned to SRVA).

In LMDB->ABAP System "ERP" I can only see the hosts SRVA, SRVB and SRVC.

BUT!!!

When I try to set up technical monitoring I get a problem at step 6 (Monitoring).

Because at step 5 I choose Technical System "ERP" and this should now show at step 6 everything of the system.

But instead of host SRVA I get now host SRV1.

And if I try to assign now a template to this host and activate I get an error:

Configuration for <SRV1> performed with errors

The content for

Does anyone now how o solve this problem, that SRV1 is found instead of SRVA ???

Is SolMan on SP05 or greater?

I ask as this is the min SP level to allow for SMD vizualization, under the technical system on the LMDB when you navigate to the host you should have the option to change the Type to be Logical/Virtual/Physical; in this case you want to ensure it is set to Virtual.

Now under the Host tab of Managed systems you would want to review the actual host name SRVA and check the box for 'Diag on the Fly' which will then spawn a new entry in the LMDB and SMD for SRV1 and allow for things to work as you currently expect them to work.

Hi Billy,

we have 7.1 SP8.

Where should I see "Diag on the fly"?

In LMDB I've opened host SRVA and also SrV1, but I can't find this option.

At the moment SRVA is set to "Logical Host".

But also when I change to virtual I can't find this option.
