Update LMDB / Manual Update

Hi experts,

I am not so familiar with LMDB and SMSY.

All changes have to be done in LMDB, is it right?

At the moment I miss data about hosts in my LMDB (e.g. CPU-Type).

So what is the correct way to update the LMDB?

Can I do this manually in LMDB or is there an automatic mode which reads all the data from the system?

Thankyou

Hi,

I would suggest whther your saposcol is running in the managed systems.

As all the infromation will be picked up by the job

SAP_LMDB_LDB_<Namespace-Id>, for example, SAP_LMDB_LDB_0000000001 and will send it to the sld and further to LMDB.

or else you can check in youe EWA reports whether all the information about the managed systems is populated or not

Himanshu

I've checked saposcol.

This is running.

And in ST06 I can see a lot information about the managed host.

The Job is running on Solution Manager

Could you please show us as a screenshot where do you want the information to populate.

Also, check in your sld whether the same info is coming or not.

Hi Himanshu,

in Transaction LMDB->Host I can see at one host only the hostname.

But information like CPU-Type, or installed software is empty.

In SLD I can see the server at technical systems.

But only rough (name, gateway service...)

Is there another possibility in SLD to see host-detail?

In sld under application servers you will find the info as below:-

If info is not coming in sld then there is some problem in the system to sld sync job,

and if the info is there in sld then there is some issue in the sld and lmdb.

I have this information.

But detail-information I miss.

I think now, that this information is coming from outside-discovery.

So I guess that there is my problem.

Well I can see the OS and OS version is populated in both of them.

There is no need to worry if the cpu type does not come.

I think there is no problem in your system.

My system is same as yours and till now its working absolutely fine.

Yes, but it is a problem, because without the installed-software Data I can't start the technical monitoring, as I can't assign an template (for metric and alerts).

What can be the reason for this?

I've now checked the agents lock and found a lot of the following entries:

Cannot established a trusted connection to SAP host agent webservice.
(SAP Host agent version installed doesn't support trusted connection method)
<SAPHostAgentTrustedConnectionConfigurator.java:117:setupTrustedConnection()>

But I've maintained host_profile and I use also another agent with exactly the same version which is not having this problem.

Hi,

As you probably aware,  If your system SOLMAN 7.1 is SP8 upgrade then can bring you some issues.

Which would require some time to resolve.

then in that case follow...

Hi Christian,

Check with this LMDB FAQ'a,

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-31457 ...

"Manual system registration in the technical system editor is intended for cases where there is no data supplier, or where the data supplier cannot be used, for example due to a firewall. The biggest disadvantage of this manual method is that there is no way to automatically update the data, since data entered manually can become obsolete after a certain period."

Hi,

thx for help.

Yes, CR and CL is up to date.

I also think that it is connect.

Because I can see Data-Supplier Update was today (in LMDB->Host details).

So I think, in SLD the data is missing.

But how can I check this?

Hi Chris,

Goto to http://hostname:port/sld - click on technical system -- select your system -- application server tab, it will have details about the host.

What can happen if I run this report?
May I loose some data in LMDB?

Isn't there functionality to just update the host-data from SLD?

And also one import note, in host-detail I see "Last Data-Supplier-Update" was today - However the data is not up to date.

Hello Christian,

Does your SAP systems are connected do SLD ?

If yes You will probably have to update CR and CL content

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41516

If you want to add info about your systems run LMDB tcode.

Some more docs:

Hi Chris,

It will resyn the content from SLD to LMDB, you will not loose anything. I don't think we have anything to update just the host data. As you were saying last sync date was today, we will try something.

What is the version of SAP CR Content and CIM model from SLD.

Hi Chris,

Run report RLMDB_SYNC_TECHNICAL_SYSTEM to resync LMDB from SLD.

Thx for help.
I've read this, especially about how to update the lmdb automatically.

But I couldn't find a guideline (only a lot of notes).

Maybe you can give me another tip.

thx
