product view interpretation

hi

in the below screen what does  42243450/2   reqmt elements .....and order (r)   means  ??  - snp:pl-ord  1000 minus - what does that mean.?? planned order tells us how much to produce ? but it say 1000 minus..bit perplexing......suppose if asked to read a single line in the product view ....how would you experts read it ....how would you interpret it colloquialy ?? i request your help.

Hey Rahul,

If you see Rec/ReqQty you will see requirement with minus and receipts with or no sign.

So is the case in your screenshot for order reservation and SNPdepdmd and SNP PLOrd is shown as positive, in the same column.

In case you are referring to Sup/short, this column is telling you the shortage or supply, so if you read this carefully it will look be appearing correct to you.

Exm. First you have order reservation with requirement of 1000 qty. and you don't have any receipt at that point of time so you have shortage of 1000 qty hence accompanied with minus sign, so is the case with depdmd that also have a shortage of 1000 so it also is accompanied with minus .

For cumulative available quantity you can refer to Available column, which shows 2000 as cumulated quantity and when planned order of 1000 is available in next line cumulated quantity is reduced by 1000, which is quantity on your planned order.

To add a bit to expert Sourabh's nice explanation, many of the SCM Categories found in //RRP3 are mapped to MRP elements found in R/3 MD05/MD04.  See the config at SCM > IMG > APO > GATP > Maintain Category.  Since you already understand the elements from R/3, then the SCM categories should also be understandable.
