Hi All,

This issue had been resolved temporarily. The installation had completed successfully, but after restarting the server, java wasn't coming up.

I restored the kernel which was on patch 37 to patch 12 and hence the icm and java were up. I have attached the icm logs for your reference.

Its got to do something with the kernel patch I believe.

Thanks everyone for help!

Thanks & Regards,

Abhishek

Hi,

can you please check the below steps.

  1. Review hosts file and remove the mapping of the AS Java hostname to 127.0.0.1 and restart the P4 client.

Portal is not starting as the P4 port 5XX04 is not able to start.

Please check if firewall is disabled.

Please try to update the kernel.

Please use netstat to find if p4 port is occupied by some othere service.

Thanks

Hi Rishi,

Please check the response.

Review hosts file and remove the mapping of the AS Java hostname to 127.0.0.1 and restart the P4 client.

There is no entry in the host file

Please check if firewall is disabled.

Firewall is disabled

Please try to update the kernel.

Updated the kernel still no use.

Please use netstat to find if p4 port is occupied by some othere service.

Unable to find p4 port in the output.

Any more clues?

Thanks & Regards,

Abhishek

Hi,

Can you please try to do nslookup localhost and past the output.

Only one ip address should be returned.

Thanks

Hi,

Another thing i found another note .

1922638 - ICM crashes when cache handler initialization fails due to resource insufficiency

What was the kernel version you updated to as this is fixed in 517 patch level.

Can you please also post the std_server.out so that we can check what is the error code in that.

Thanks

Hi Rishi,

I did execute the above command and got the output in the following format.

Server:  XXXX.xxxx.xxxx.xxx.xx

Address:  xx.xx.xx.xxx

Name:    localhost.xxxx.xxxx.xxx.xx

Address:  xx.xxx.xxx.xx

Unfortunately I cannot paste the ip and domain as it is against the company policies.

Thanks & Regards,

Abhishek

Hi,

As i cant see the ip address so i can pass on this note to you to check.

1872990 - various error messages related to incorrect resolution of localhost

Initially i was think that you are 720 kernel but you are at 740 so that rules out kernel issue.

Related to the std_server.out you can find that in usr/sap/SID/J*/work

Thanks

Hi Rishi / All,

Java was using SRM ABAP as the datastore. I changed the following parameters in the ABAP stack instance profile and retrying the installation.

  1. icm/server_port_0 (Value: PROT=HTTP,PORT=80$$)
  2. icm/host_name_full (Value:fully qualified domain name)

Now the installation is in progress. I will let you know of the updates.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks & Regards,

Abhishek
