Query on Interface:plant dcs to MII and ERP

Hi

I need help on interfacing SAP with the plant historian/ DCS to enable transfer of flow meter readings of liquids to SAP MII and thereafter to SAP PPPI (production planning) module. This interface should enable automatic update of goods receipts, goods issues and confirmations for process orders based on the daily flow meter readings.

1. My query is whether this data can be transferred to SAP ERP (from MII) without using Process Management (i.e. process instructions, control recipes and process messages)? Is it possible to make use of BAPI’s such as ‘BAPI_PRODORDCONF_TT’ to directly transfer data to SAP PPPI without having to configure process management? If yes, then which are the BAPI’s to be used and how can they be triggered on a daily basis?
2. Also, how can each tag be mapped to an SAP material code in SAP? Would we need to maintain a z-table for this in MII/ ERP?

Any inputs on the basic steps to setup the interface (from DCS to MII to ERP) would be appreciated.

SAP MII provides various connectors to connect to shop floor and to ERP systems.

For connecting from MII to ERP you can make use of Jco connector or JRA connector.

I'm still not clear on whether PI sheets are a pre-requisite to enable the interface.

I'm closing this thread for the time being and will open a new thread later.
