SAP ECC 6.0 Unicode with IDES installation

Hi,

I need the following answer very quickly, if any one could answer that will be good.

How long (days / weeks/ months) to install the following, consider the person who has never done this before.\

1. Install oracle DB in windows

2. Install ECC 6.0 unicode with IDES in windows

depends on you knowledge generally about computers and about databases. This can be done in one day - but can take much longer if you run into problems and have no access to patches/notes/installation guides etc.

Hi,

Solutiona manager: I understand that it is to be installed to get solution manager key and we want only that. We are not using SM for anything else.

All we want is just to install ECC 6.0 IDES ABAP Stack.

Questions: 1. Can I install SM on a server and then install ECC 6.0 IDES on the same server?

2. If yes, what is the disk space required.

OR

Can I install SM on any other machine to get SM key and continue with ECC 6.0 installation?

How much space is required for SM to generate SM key?

Could anyone point me to OSS notes or give me some steps to go about it?

your can install SM on the same server on anywhere else.

to get hardware needs, check in the installation guide at http://service.sap.com/INSTGUIDES

One more question on the same requirement:

What is the disk space and memory required for the installation?

Oracle 10.2

SAP ECC 6.0 with IDES data

I understand that I need solution manager to get the key for the installation and I may not require SM further.

Is it required to install SM on the same server that SAP ECC 60 to be installed? OR could it be installed in another machine to get the key for the installation?

Oracle in Windows: about 1 hour

ECC6.0: about 1 day.

but that's just me.

one day...that's fast! it took me roughly 30 hours for an erp2005 sr2 on aix5.3 and db2 v9 to get the ides dvds imported
