HI Friends,
As per our company process Project indirect cost are directly booked from FI,as WBS are not mandatory for Fi postings so that actual cost from Fi not reflected to PS budget phase, now we have make the WBS element compulsory for Fi posting as well.
Now my issue for some projects WBS are mendatory so cost will show in ps but as per requirement we want what ever direct posting done earlier in FI cost should reflect in PS as well,so i have to book the cost for direct posting done from Fi(Without WBS) to PS,
Project people should identify what are my actual cost in cured till now
Please suggest.
Hi,
Please check possibility of reposting of CO document by using KB61 t-code.
By using Kb61 you can change controlling object to WBS.
Thanks.

Some background information on the diffeence between FI and CO.
In FI the accounts are called General Ledger (G/L) accounts. There are Balance Sheet Accounts and P&L Accounts. In Controlling the accounts are called Cost Elements. They have the same number as the G/L accounts so it is seemless. Only P&L G/L accounts can have Cost Elements (of course there are exceptions but that is the general rule).
When you make a posting to Balance Sheet accounts you will only get a Finance Document.
When you make a posting to a P&L account you will get 2 documents, an Accounting Document (FI) and a Controlling Document (CO). When you make a CO posting to a cost element it must also be assigned to a Cost Object (examples are Internal Order, Cost Centers, WBS elements, etc.)
There are also cost elements called secondary cost elements, these do not have FI G/L account equivalents. When you make a posting to a secondary cost element you will only get a CO document and no FI document. the most common example for this is internal labor allocation.
To solve your problem above you want to post values from one Cost Object to another Cost Object. There are several ways of doing this. KB61 is one. You can also use KB11N (if you want to change accounts) or KB15N (if you only want to change the cost object).
I'm thinking that KB15N would work best for you. This will repost the costs from an Internal Order to a WBS element with no change to the FI accounts.
Hi,
As explained by Ken, there are several standard transactions are bing used for transfer posting. let your CO team decide which one to be used.
One more thing, check and ensure all your WBS elements are in REL/TECO status. If not these should not in CLSD status otherwise system gives a error message.
Thanks,
Sudhakar
Hi Yogendra,
Under what particular head you were doing your FI posting earlier.?
Was it Internal Order, JV, Cost Center etc.?
