Local client copy fails

Hi,

I have performed a homogeneous system copy from Production (PRD)  to Quality Server.(QAS)

(Restored from a PRD backup)

In Production Server, there were 4 clients - 000,001,050,300 with SID as PRD

After system copy;

Quality System, also got the same clients 000,001,050,300 with SID as QAS

So now, its having same client numbers in both PRD and QAS. Will this be an issue?

(SID is different. But Client numbers are same. 300-PRD   &   300-QAS)

After that , i tried to change the client number 300 of QAS through Local Client copy

(creating another new client called 612. and planned to remove 300 from QAS)

But when i execute the SCCL , after few seconds it got failed. (After 200+ seconds)

RFC connections are working fine.

I have checked the logs in SCC3 as well. But it not giving any clues. Any idea how to rectify this?

What would be the best way of changing this client number?

log files are attached.

regards,

zerandib

Why do you think that is an issue as these both are different system.

After system copy did you do all the post processing steps.

Do you see any issue in Sm21 log . is there space in the system.

Can you please past the if any dump is in created in st22 related to this. I think there would be dump as per the job failure.

Thanks

No, there should not be any issue. you should use different logical system name for QA system clients, run BDLS.

for client copy cancellation, please check if you have ABAP dump (ST22) and provide logs.

Hello,

There is no issue in having same client number in quality as in production system.

As far as this error is concerned, could you please check any error message in SM21/ST22?

Thanks,

Sunny
