Reserving Items for Customers

Hi all

Please let me know how do we reserve items to customers. Sometimes the customers calls up and asks to keep few items reserved for them and they many not issue purchase orders. For this scenario, I thought of creating a sales order and saving it, so that item gets reserved in open sales orders. Are there any other methods to configure it?

Hi,

The best way in a Std SAP could be that, thru the warehousemanagment, keep some qty in a separate BIN for those customers who wish to pickup at a later date.

The qty in the BIN should be exclusively used for these type of customers. So based on the vol that reservation needs to be done, that much qty keep in a separate BIN always.

While creating/confirming the Transfer orders for regular orders, this particular BIN should not be used.

This way u can fulfil your requirement, without raising any Sales order.

The scenario should be such that we should be able to create reservations and cancel the reserved items if the customer does not buy within a stipulated time. Plese help.
