Hi Folks,

We are getting Frequent CCMS alerts of Dialog DB Request time and Dialog Response Time.

Could anyone suggest on how to proceed further for  further analysis.

Thresholds  are 3000 for Dialog Response Time and 8000 for

Dialog DB Request time

Thanks & Regards,

Sharma TVK

If this is not a production then you can either consider disabling the CCMS monitoring for these or increase the threshold limit. (something which I would consider if the alerts have least importance).

If you are worried about the response times then you may start with the performance tuning of the system.

Hello Sharma,

There are two points to be considered here.

If you want to reduce the number of CCMS alerts you are getting, changing the thresholds for this MTEs will solve the problem. However, if you want to check why these alerts are being triggered now you will have to analyze the performance for this specific system.

Dear Sharma,

What do you mean by "reduce number of alerts"??

is it that, you want the alerts in less number because they are disturbing??

or you want to find the root cause of the alert, get the resolution and lessen the alerts??

in first case, you may follow Mr.Khaja's suggestion &

in second case, you need to thoroughly monitor the system and understand why the responce times are too high.

in particular, you need to check

1. number of users logging on per day (if  very high, you need to set auto logout parameter low and in extreme case you may have to add another application server)

2. the jobs which are consuming more memory and time.( if any, you need to check what are the programs of the jobs and try to simplify them. in extreme case you may have to contact SAP.)

Hope this helps,

Rg,
