"Add query" with BO 4.1 server does not work

Former Member

Hello,

We have a BO 4.1 server with all tools up to date. I wanted to use a BEx Query as a source in a Dashboard 4.1 and therefore used the "add query" button.

I was able to connect to the BO system but couldn't do more.

2 problems appeared:

  1. the window is stuck on "Please Wait" and never let me choose an universe or a bex query
  2. We changed the webservice url and an error message appears about the note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1668437

My colleagues, who knows BO, tried to apply what's in there but we were unable to make the add query work (like changing the dashboard services ports to make sure they were opened).

Do you have any idea ? This is bothersome because right now, the dashboard tool is somewhat not as powerful it could be.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

1)Just create another set of dashboard processing server and cache server and stop the existing one.

2)Also check whether you are able to validate the url that is there in CMC->applications->web service taht is http:server:port/dswsbobje

3)Check whether you are able to telnet the server as well as ping the server.

4)If you have the Dashboards designer on the server then try creating a query and then let me that also works.

Hello,

I looked at the OLAP connection and it was fine.

But, as you suggested, I had a look at the webservice url and it was partially correct.

I found that a / after http:server:port/dswsbobje was the source of the problem. My colleague have set up this today but didn't thought about this I think.

Thank you for your time and help everyone. I learned new things about the BO server today

For information, we managed to get a log about it:

File:CMS_<Server>.CentralManagementServer_trace

CSessionMgr::ValidateApplicationCUID: Attempt to login when specifying an invalid application CUID session. The specified id is = XXXXXXX).

So you can connect to the server from the dashboard but could not add any query?

This error seems to be related to the connection to the server itself. Please check the if all the Dashboard servers are up and running in CMC.. Please see screenshot for the name of dashboard servers

Hi Franck,

I think it could be related to the OLAP connection: from BI Platform to BW (CMC -> OLAP Connection). Have you checked that it is correct? (perhaps the password has changed).

What authentication mode are you using? Have you checked if the BICS connection works in Webi?

Plase, also check the requirements in Product Availability Matrix (PAM):

Can you try to restart the app servers SIA and check the Dashborad services are running after the restart.

Also please try with a admin account just while logging to the sever from dashboard to eliminate any possibility of a security issue...
