Failed to connect unwired server, retrying... Check the Unwired Server port for this outbound enabler.

Hi all.

After a planned re-start by the System Administrator, We have not been able to get the Outbound Enabler running again.

In SCC I get the status description : "Failed to connect unwired server, retrying... Check the Unwired Server port for this outbound enabler."

So, I open RBSNode.RSOE9 file to review the logs (with verbosity set to 5), and I find this:

Hi David,

I think the relay server is not configured correctly, can you double check the below mentioned things,

1) Is the rs.config file of the relay server configured correctly?

2) The status of the Relay server should show as "Full" in Green color, can you check why your relay server status is showing partial ?. This happens if the relay server is not configured properly.

3) Check the connection settings in SCC, the outbound enabler configuarion should match the properties given in rs.cong file.

Thanks,

Shiv

Hi.

Yes. The Relay Server was configured properly. It used to be in green "Overall status: Full"... But after a blackout in the datacenter, it is showing this status....

The relay server status should show as "Full" and then the outbound enabler works fine else you shall have issues as outbound enablers talks with relay server.

Are the services set to Automatic on Startup Type? Double check the services (Start > Administrative Tools > Services). Ensure the following are Started:

- Sybase Control Center 3.2

- Sybase Unwired CacheDb

- Sybase Unwired Server

Try checking the relay server log file to see if it's throwing any errors. Should be in a location like:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ias_relay_server\server\log.txt

Note: Should be in same location as the rs.config file.

Also, we had a problem with an expired self-signed certificate. Needed to load new certificate in SCC for the relay servers.
