Material in Fixed Storage Bin Types

Hi All,

Do someone know if it is possible to have some material (E.g. Liquid) fixed to be able to be stocked only in the first level of the racks?

In this case, I have racks with 6 or 7 levels and I can use only one storage section.

All the liquid material can be stored only in the first and lower level.

I'm thinking to use 6 or 7 different storage Bin types - one for each level - and fix those liquid material to be stocked exclusivelly on this lower level.

We have other material that can be stored anyewere in the stock, including this firts level.

So, how to manage this with only one storage section and one storage Type?

Thanks in advance!

activate your storage unit search in IMG: LE > WM > strategies > Activate Storage Bin Type Search

Define a storage bin type for the first level of the rack, define one (or more, if needed) storage bin types for the other levels. enter the storage bin type in your bin master in LS03N.

Define storage unit types for your warehouse. Later enter the storage unit type info  in material master WM2 view.

Assign the storage unit types to the storage type where they are allowed to be stored

Assign the storage unit types to the storage bin types

Here you would use the storage unit type for you liquid  and assign it to the storage bin type that is used for the lower level in the racks.

Assign all other storage unit type that are allowed to be stored in that rack to the storage bin type that is used for the upper levels plus to the storage bin type for the lower level.

Activate the storage unit type check to get error messages if someone tries to move a Liquid to the upper level.

Read the docu that can be found in front of this IMG activity, it is quite detailed and useful

Jurgen is right, you can use that if your bins in the lower level are of the specific bin type or
if you can make them be.
But if not for some case, you can use storage section search, if your lower bins are of the same
section or you can make them be.
Also, if those bins are or can be assigned to a specific storage type you can do it that way too.

Actually there are quite a few approaches to make this happen with Jurgens being
the standard one.
