BW in Solution Manager - Activation Problem

Hi experts,

I try to solve all red amps in SOLMAN_SETUP lol

At the moment I am in "Basic Configuration".

Exactly at step 5 "Configure Automatically".

And there I get an error at activity "Setup BW".

The error says "Error while starting BI setup job: CCMS_BI_SETUP".

When I go to transaction RSTCO_ADMIN I see the following errors in the protocol:

(This is the error of datastore object "0RSPL_AGS")

Post Processing/Checking the Activation for DataStore Object 0RSPL_AGS

Creating Export DataSource and dependent Objects

DataSource 80RSPL_AGS does not exist in source system FSTCLNT008 of version A

Reading the Metadata of 0RSPL_AGS ...

Creating DataSource 80RSPL_AGS ...

Error when creating the export DataSource and dependent Objects

Program ID 00733D9X3K5TXNNJWYKYLMZV0 retrieved for DataStore object 0RSPL_AGS

Error when activating DataStore Object 0RSPL_AGS

Does someone know how to solve the problems?

I've also executed the job RS_TCO_ACTIVATION.

And there I get the following error: "An error occurred while activating BW object   (XPRA: Content Aktivierung)" (=Message Number  RSTCO_UT003)

How can I create the object XPAR in transaction RSOR?

Thank you

Hi,

Instead of manually going into RSA1 (which should work), you can manually generate the profile for role SAP_SM_BI_PROCESS in transaction PFCG, manually add the role to user SOLMAN_ADMIN, and rerun the step.  If you don't have this role in your system, you can add it from Note 1570399.

Hope this helps!!

Himanshu

I've added the role to the user.

However, when I re-execute the activity it is still the same error (see above).

For your information

The user <admin username> is not SM_BW_ADMIN as described in note 1710174.

May this be the error?

However, the user which is behind <admin username> should have all authorities.

BTW: we have 7.1Sp8

Hi Chris,

Goto RSA1 -> it show metadata screen? ( in BI client )

if show     * select replicate as well

                 * next screen select last option (this and following 8 and 3X data source

                 * take some time to activate

                * Goto RSTCO_ADMIN and activate the job

                * check  the BI_TCO_ACTIVATION in SM37 and after complete.

                *check the status  in RSTCO_ADMIN

1. Please check RSADMINA table and see if the BW client is proper...Please check if you are running SOLMAN_SETUP from correct client.

2. What is the client you activated BI? is it 001 or 100.. because your error saying its going to client 100, if your BI in other client, you must need to set up the RFC connection from client 100 to client 001. this is also one of the steps in solman_setup -> system preparation.

3. Also check the SMD_RFC auth in 001 client.

For those that are experiencing the same issue, sometimes the BI client is activated in the wrong client, or for whatever reason the issue occurs even though it was created in the right system.

For me, it was a combination of things.  I tried the following [ Note, this applies to SP08, maybe Solman SP07 too)

  1. Copy the standard role SAP_SM_BI_PROCESS to ZSAP_SM_BI_PROCESS
  2. Assign full authorization for this role (PFCG)
  3. Assign the role to the users SMD_RFC and SOLMAN_ADMIN
  4. Rerun the step (Basic Configuration Step 5, execute all bw related steps, best is re-execute all steps)

Hi Karthik,

when I start RSA1 I get into "Data Sources" screen, where I can see one entry (tree header) with the name "BW DataSources". And this is in client of Solman-System.

I've made an right-click on this and did execute the "Replication".

Was this correct?

If not could you please give me again a guide how to make the replication.

If it was correct, it did not solve the problem.

Because I still get the same errors on executing RSTCO_ADMIN.

Kind regards

Hello Himanshu,

so now I am confused.

I thought this will be in the productive client. So in our case this would be client 008.

Or where do you see that it is client 100?

Or can it only be activated in client 001 or 100.

System-preparation was completed successful.

Btw, in table RSADMINA I can only find one entry with the following values (remaining fields are empty):

CUSTOMIZID = BW

IDOCLASTNBR  1

ISLASTNBR        0

TSLASTNBR        0

MONARCHNBR       0

BWMANDT          8

ODSMAXTASKS      0

ODSMINPAKSIZE    0

ODSACTTIMEOUT    0

Oh sorry that was a typo... I meant 008 instead of 100.

If system preparation step is successful, then it should work fine if the rfc connection of the bw source client is fine.

Hi Chris,

In Basic configuration step 2.2 setup sap BW system, which client you have mapped?

https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000938392012E.pdf - pg 8

In the same client need to executed the RSA1 .

whether data sources were replicated as 3.X  or 7.x ?

check in RSDS table and confirm it.

Issue is with the data store , please check the below discussion, may be it will helpful for you.

Yes, but which RFC is it which I've to check?

And where do I have to check this?

In solman_setup all steps till step 3 are green.

I've also checked in step 2.4 the connection of SMD_RFC, and it works.

Goto RSA1:-

The rfc should be <SID>CLNT<CLNT NUMBER>:-

The screenshot was very helpful.

I only have one entry below "BI", all other nodes are empty.

Therefore I make a rightclick on the item below "BI" (=Test Solution Manager 008) and click on activating.

After doing this, I get an error, that partner-settings are not maintained (EDI Transaction WE20).

Do I have to create does partner settings manually or can this be done automatically?

Before continuing this way I would like to activate via RSA1 (see entry at the bottom about we20-settings)

Hi guys,

the problem is solved now.

To the solution:

I had to go into transaction RSA1->Source System.

Then I made an right-click on the entry below "BI" and clicked "activating".

BUT!

I first had to configure the WE20->logical system of solman.

At activating the systems describes exactly which entries are left.

Kind regards and thx to everyone for great help!

Hi,

Please see below:-

Create it manually as below:-

WE20:-

Here BWPCLNT400 being the same RFC connection.

and

WE21:-

Hi,

In the solman BI client , open the RSA1 t.code and activate the BI content.

Also please check the below note

1806396  - Error "The job ccms_bi_setup is not yet executed

Hi Karthik,

which BI content do I have to activate in RSA1?

The note is not so helpful, as I can't find the activity "Activate BW content for RCA".

Kind regards
