SAP Logon Screen Image

Dear All,

Am following below steps to change my SAP logon screen image on the right side, but is not reflecting.

  1. TCode: SMW0
  2. Entered Binary data for WebRFC applications
  3. Maintained 3 MIME types as
    • Type: Picture;  Extension *.gif
    • Type: jpg;  Extension *.jpg
    • Type: text/html;  Extension *.htm,*.html
  4. Created a ZXXXXXXX object with a gif image of 15KB and saved it.
  5. Opened SSM_CUST table in SM30 and given START_IMAGE as the gif filename and saved it.
  6. Log off and login again.

No image was displayed. Did I missed any step..??

Please help..

Regards,

Deepak

Hi Deepak ,

It seems you follow proper procedure , but may be you need to restart your Application

anyway, you can check your background PIC by accessing your system through WEBGUI  "just to make sure from your configuration " from the below link

http://<HostName>:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui

before you tried the WEBGUI, you have to activate the following services from sicf T-code

  1. /default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
  2. /default_host/sap/public/bc/ur
  3. /default_host/sap/public/bc/its/mimes

refer to the following link to activate the SAPGUI

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29485

if it is not appear , recheck again the configuration and follow the procedure in the attachment

kindly change  the extension of the attached file to DOC

Hi Deepak,

Could you please change the extension of the .gif file to .GIF and try?

And make sure that the file is in .GIF binary format only. If you change the extension of any picture file, then it wouldn't work. For example, if you change ABC.JPG to ZABC.GIF.

Hope this helps..

Hi Deepak,

You may open the picture file in MS Paint and then save the image as follows.

This will save the picture in GIF binary format.

Hi,

If you have imported the image, have the following parameters too:

RESIZE_IMAGE=NO

HIDE_START_IMAGE= NO

Maybe you could try to delete the cache:

1292374  - Swapping the logon image has no effect

As mentioned by Deepak, be sure that names are the same (and you do not forget the extension i.e .gif)

Hi Deepak,

However, it doesn't matters coz the file name imported and filename entered in table must be same and not z object name, but still I've made it all same, but of no use.

Deepak

Please have a look at the below discussion. Your issue may be the same.

Check the following:

1) You can deactivate the picture for any user with the following menu path: Easy Access Menu --> "Extras" --> "Settings" -> "Do not display image".

2) You can also globally disconnect the picture by inserting the entry "HIDE_START_IMAGE" with a value "YES" in the SSM_CUST table. The system then no longer considers user-specific settings for the picture.

3) If you activate the "Low Speed Connection" (see the next point in the note) then the picture is also not displayed.

Hi,

All done. But nothing is proving fruitful.

Tell me one thing. Do I need to re-start the entire SAP server to realize the same..? Or just logout and login is enough.

Read carefully SAP KBA 1638985 - How to display company logo/image on SAP Logon Screen:

23. Logoff and Login again.
