Does ERP 6.0 EhP7 Impact on Solution Manager 7.0 ?

Hi Expert,

Our client have been operating Solution Manager 7.0 and several ERPs inside the company.

Now, they are planning to implement new ERP and discussing about EhP version.

They don't want to change or upgrade the Solution Manager since it manages other older ERPs' transport and are afraid of impact of latest EhP implementation.

We have installed CRP environment with EhP7, with applying some SAP Notes and importing catalogue to their test server of Solution Manager.

They dislike such changes to production server of Solution Manager.

Are there any impact on Solution Manager 7.0 SP23 when and after implementing ERP 6.0 EHP7? Is it documented anywhere?

Or, should we install EhP4 (the latest version within the client environment) and apply SPS24?

Hello,

There is no need to upgrade Solution manager if solution manager version is at least Solman 7.0 EHP1 SP23. If you will check master guide for EHP7 installation then you will find below update:

Use of SAP Solution Manager is mandatory.

You require at least one of the following versions of SAP Solution Manager.cÛfiH)d

SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1, SPS23 or highercÛfiH)d

SAP Solution Manager 7.1, SPS01 or higher

SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1, SPS23 supports all update and maintenance processes (for example, transaction SMSY or Maintenance Optimizer) There is no need to upgrade to SAP Solution Manager 7.1.

Hi,

It depends on what are the functions your client is using in SOLMAN 7.0 and which type of support you are having from SAP I mean standard support or enterprise support.

If you are having standard support, then there is no point in upgrading the solman from 7.0 as you will not be able to access any new features of solman 7.1 after upgrade also.

But if u have enterprise support, then u need to upgrade the same to solman 7.1 EHP, to use the new functionality which are available.

Just keep in mind that Solution manager 7 run out of support in this Dec 2013.
