NWBC transactions for TM not working remotely

We have a TM9.0 IDES. NWBC transactions for TM work fine on local machine. But, when we run these transactions remotely, we get error "page can't be displayed". I thought this is related to some kind of firewall issues. But, we have SAP & HTTP ports open and firewall settings looks ok. No issue with accessing SAP TM remotely. Issue is only with running TM NWBC transactions remotely.

If anyone had same issue, how did you resolve it?

What do you mean with "work fine on local machine"? Are you using NWBC desktop version or traditional SAP GUI?

My IDES VMware is installed on a PC. Remote access enabled too

I am not using Desktop version of NWBC. I just logn on to TM SAP Client, Then, run either NWBC transaction or run TM transaction from SAP GUI, which launches respective NWBC transaction. This works fine when I am working directly on VM ware on PC at home.  But, when I am away from home, I can remotely logon to TM SAP client. But, NWBC transactions won't work. I get error "Page can't be displayed".

Check the oss note 900000 and references inside. Or may would be better if you post this message on NWBC space.

I did look at this note and several other notes. I could not find any direction for my issue. I will look at few other notes and will post this on NWBC network too. Thanks for your time.

Resolved this issue with help of a Basis guy.

Remote client is unable to translate the host name to IP address of remote host.

Add a line (Host IP address      Host Name) at the end to file "hosts".

(C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
