Dear Experts,

We are using SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 on Oracle 11G. We are unable to schedule DB check and offline backups in the system by DB13. we are getting the below error message.

I have tried the SNOTE 776505-776505 - ORA-01017/ORA-01031 in BR*Tools on Linux and Solaris 11 but there was no luck. i have tried to run the sapdba_role.sql script from user ID <sapsid>adm however sapdba_role.log file is showing

ERROR:

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

should i run sapconn sql script?

Hi,

First you are at very basic version of brtools.I thing 720 patch 1.

Are you planning to upgrade it to higher patch level.

Have you checked the below note.

400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle

for the DBA role import you would have used the below command.

134592 - Importing the SAPDBA role (sapdba_role.sql)

If this also does not helps please check the below blog.

Hi Pradeep,

there has been posted a lot of useful advice already. It will most probably help you.

Just one special aspect from my experience: We had similar problems with our MCOD installations. There the setup procedure sometimes changed the environment of the ora<sid> in a way, that brtools etc. were not started from the <sid>adm environment, but from the <mcod>adm environment.

First update the BRTools to the latest version of 7.20

If that doesn't fix the issue then execute the sapdba_role.sql script.

Hi Pradeep,

Besides Rishi's suggestion, please also check the owner and group of BR* executable under /sapmnt/<SID>/exe. Change them to ora<SID>:dba if they are not and then have a go.
