Compare & Adjust using SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE

Hello,

I would like to have more information no how SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE works, what are its limitations.

I am using Template project using which i am deriving many implementation project,  now changes either ways i need to find out the changes.

Please provide information on Compare and Adjust functionality of Solution Manager.
