Problem with start SAP system

Hello,

I installed SAP system SCM 7.0 on Windows Server x64, database Oracle 11.2

System worked correctly.

But on last week server been restarted.

After this I can't start this system.

Database via sqlplus starts normally.

On this server another SAP systems are present, like ERP 6.0 EHP7, Solman 7.1, and those systems start correctly without problem.

But SCM didn't starts.

I don't understand what a problem.

I have analyzed the logs and looking for a solution on the Internet, but I found none.

I think problem with ICM, because the system in the MMC console display becomes green, but then the work process dies, the system displays a yellow, dispatcher stopped.

Please help me.

Please check your network/DNS settings.

From the trace its very clear the icm is having DNS issue.

Please provide the output of

niping -v

Make sure that localhost is resolved into IP 127.0.0.1.
Use the command:
     nslookup localhost
to verify the IP address returned for localhost from the DNS.
Clear the faulty entry in the DNS.

Temporary workaround:
Until you can not find the faulty DNS entry force the OS to use the local /etc/hosts file (where localhost is maintained correctly) before querying the DNS.
For further details on the workaround refer to the first paragraph of SAP note 124562.

and the system is not coming up because of ICM as per this note.

When this stop working is this some system which toy have installed on local laptop ?

Problem been with DNS/Network

nslookup didn't resolve DNS server

Are there any errors in the event viewer when the SAP system crashes ?

Replace the existing kernel with a different version and see whether that helps.

ICM received shut down request. Please check OS log and see if there is any clue.

Have you tried to restart OS?

Oh, I was wrong.

The sequence should be WPs died-> Dispatcher shut down -> ICM shut down.

The error in work process trace is critical and it caused WPs died:

M  *** ERROR => ThPlgConnectToIcm: IcmReadAck failed (-8, ni_rc=-6) [thxxplg.c    5172]

M  in_ThErrHandle: 1

M  *** ERROR => ThStart: connect to icman (step 1, th_errno 2, action 3, level 1) [thxxhead.c   11348]

Similiar to the error mentioned in note 956048, but it is not the case.

Maybe a level 3 trace might be helpful to analysis.

Anyway, OS restart is recommended.

before start the investigation, can you stop the other instances, restart your machine and then start only scm? (this will exclude the lack of memory)

I did it in the first step of my investigation.

The result is the same.
