Table space Added automatically

Dear All,

I have faced a problem in Adding table space in oracle.Space getting added automatically in PSAPSR3 table.

what will be the problem behind on this issue.

Please advice.

that particular table have auto extend ON, you can check that...

Hello Arunkarthick,

Login to your SAP system, execute tcode DB02 and select the tablespace where you are facing the issue eg: PSAPSR3. There you'll see the datafiles added to the File System. Check the AutoExtend column, if it is "Yes", then the system will automatically add datafiles till it reaches the Max Size as specified during the last datafile addition using BRTOOLS.

Also, during the addition of datafiles using BRTOOLS, the system will ask you whether you want to specify the next datafile, you can select No, if you don't want to add the next datafile.

Read the BRTOOLS options carefully, before you proceed with Yes or No. This should help you resolve the issue.

Hi Arun,

Please check whether you have set the option of File autoextend mode (autoextend) in ON or not for the existing data files.

Can you please clarify what you are doing ? Are you creating tablespace OR adding datafiles in any tablespace ? are you adding datafiles with AutoExtend ON ?

And how you are doing this ?

Want to add data file in table space. But the table space added the data files automatically!!!.

May be you are not giving correct tablespace name in : brtools >>>  2 - Space management  >>>  1 = Extend tablespace   >>>   3 ~ Tablespace name (tablespace) ... [provide a name of tablespace]

Want to add data file in table space. But the table space added the data files automatically!!!.

Could you provide more details and also what you have done using BRTOOLS.

When you extend a tablespace there will be a new datafile added to the tablespace. Is this what you have done ?

If the tablespace is getting extended automatically without manual inputs then check for any scripts enabled in the system to perform this task.
