Near expiry batch determination in process orders

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

We have business scenario in which API & RAW materials are issued for the production of bulk materials. Some times the expiry date of the API/RAW materials is very less, say 10 to 15 days. These batches are determined by automatic batch determination in process order & get expired till the manufacturing of bulk batch.

Would like to know how i can maintain the settings in COB1 so that batch with near expiry dates don't get determined as it can be done for batches in delivery(Sales).

I have maintained characteristics LOBM_VFDAT, LOBM_UDCODE & LOBM_RLZ in class & sort rule is based on LOBM_UDCODE & LOBM_VFDAT

Thanks & Regards

Amit

It's done the same way as in the Sales side.  You didn't say which class contained which characteristics.

  1. LOBM_VFDAT should be in the batch class of all your materials
  2. LOBM_VFDAT, LOBM_LFDAT, and LOBM_RLZ should be in the selection class

Just as in the Sales process.

Dear Amit,

Create one more characteristics as "Remaining shelf life of batch" and assign the characteristics to class, which is assigned to material. And mention its value as > = 10 or 15 days.

While batch determination, system will propose the batches which will have remaining shelf life more than 10 days.

For more information please refer: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25997

Hope it helps.
