Define backend system SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0

Dear all,

we're on SRM 5.0 (SAPKIBKT10).

Because our backend system will be changed from ERP 4.7 to ECC 6.0 in SPRO "Define Backend Systems" the "System type" has to be changed

from "R/3_4.70" to

--> "ERP_6.0".

However the value "ERP_6.0" is not available in the F4-selection (see attached file "Available system types.jpg")

We found note 1850717 and also 1742773.

Do we really have to maintain the new entry "ERP_6.0" in domain BBP_SYSTEM_TYPE and after that do the steps from note 1850717 in table BBP_FUNCTION_TAB ? Copy all old "R/3_4.70" entries and set  "ERP_6.0"?

Then delete the "R/3_4.70" entries? I guess No.

Thanks and best regards,

Henning

Hi,

We are on SRM7 & ECC6 and using ERP 4.0 system type as shown below with the correct RFC and RFC indicator. This should work.

Hello,

You do not need to change this.

If you had SRM 7.0 this would have impact, since on ECC6 EHP4 you can use XML to transfer POs and contracts.

However, in SRM 5.0 this is not available. Therefore, you can keep this customizing as 4.7.

Hi,

SRM will continue to function as it is now if you leave the backend system type on 4.70, if you want to use functions that have been added in ECC6 than you need to implement/follow the notes.

However it is a small thing to implement the notes and add the entries to the BBP_FUNCTION_MAP (don't delete the 4.70 entries here) and update the system landscape table.

Regards,

Robin

P.S. You might look at upgrading SRM5 as well soon
