Smartform printer output different from print preview

Former Member

I have an issue when printing my smartform. The print preview and pdf preview look perfect, but when printing (output device:LOCL) the text appears larger and exceeds the cell width.

This is the difference:

Any ideas as to why this happens when printing?

Could it be something to do with printer configuration? If yes, what exactly?

Thanks,

Sara

Check in Spool RAW data it appears like the Printer does not have the fonts installed which you are using. So it converts them into default may be AERIAL etc. Which Font are you using?

Hi sara pulickal,

Plese check in which printer BASIS has installed all fonts?
try with LP01 also. If you are getting the same line exceed problem in in LP01 also.

you can check in the following navigation.

SPAD - Spool Administration

Full administration

Device Types - LOCL / LP01

you can add your required font in the following navigation (pls take BASIS team HELP)

SE73 - SAPscript Font Maintenance

Printer fonts - Change

Double click on the LOCL device type

Create

Font family   COURIER

Font size     010

Characters per inch 10.00

Print control 1 SFXXX

Print control 2 SFXXX

PFA screenshot of printer CAN105 installed fonts.

Thanks & Regards,
Hemanth.

Can you try to execute a print preview with a printer with correct driver related to actual printer device (Note 1097990 - List of Printer Vendor Wizard Notes) and not generic SAPWIN. You could create a printer device in SPAD transaction or ask basis to, you don't need the device to be actually attached to a print queue for testing preview. then you could (SP02) print the generated spool to LOCL printer to compare.

Raymond
