How to learn SAP QM Module ?

Hello All,

I am new to SAP QM, I want to know how to start about with the basics of the module ? Also what is the best way to master this module within a short time span.

Please share the resources/your personal experiences for SAP QM.

I have basic knowledge of SAP PP and MM modules.

Hi Ameya,

You can start with the following master data which can give you basic touch of QM module.

1. Material master QM view,
2. Master inspection characteristics,
3. Task lists and inspection plans
4. Sampling procedure/ Sample management
5. Material specification
6. Code, Code groups and Selected sets.
7. Inspection types.
8. Quality notifications.
9. Quality info-record
10. Quality certificates

There are more content to look after which you will get to know once you go through these master data.  There are several threads/ discussions available in SCN alongwith SAP help.

Pl start exploring to get the basic knowledge of QM module.

Is there any book which I can read online ?

I want a way I can navigate myself through the QM module basics as I have no clue about all these things. Basic transaciton codes/process details like for ex: PP has plan to produce cycle, what is the cycle for QM ?

Also which modules does QM integrate with ?

Different type of Process Scenarios in QM Module as-

1. Incomming Material Inspection (Raw,Packing)

2. InproceInspection

3. Post Process Inspection (Final FG)

4. Inspection at Delivery

5. Stock Transfer Inspection

QM Module integrated with MM, SD, PP

Hi Ameya,

You can start SAP QM module with seeing some Presentation & PPT.Will give you some idea regarding how SAP QM Module Work.

Then you start working on Basic Master Data and Important of each.

Like Inspection Method, Sampling Process, MIC, Catalog,Inspection Plan.
