Transport Queries

Hi,

There is a bunch of interfaces mainly IDoc and also consisists of RFC,CIF interfaces as well.

We need to analyse the interfaces out of these interfaces along with their settings which can be transported and the ones which cannot be transported.

Which of these interfaces and their settings are trasportable and which are not?

Please guide me.

Thanks and regards,

Hi,

you can transport ESR and ID objects. connection parameters which are specified in the communication channel will not be transported. you have to give after transport.

Regards,

Muniyappan.

Adding to Muniyappan,

The IP address, file path, password etc, will not be transported

Hi Muniyappan and Agasthuri,

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

There are IDoc inbound and outbound interfaces and their settings that we need to analyse whether they are transportable or not

Are following things transportable

1.IDoc metadata

2.IDoc settings(partner profile,rfc destination etc)

3.ESR objects pertaininig to IDoc (mapping objects, service interfaces etc)

4.ID objects pertaining to IDoc(channels etc)

5.SLD objects pertaining to IDoc(Business systems,SWCV,namespaces)

Please guide me

Thanks in advance

Hi Agasthuri,

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply.

1.Is this transport applicable for inbound as well as outbound IDoc scenarios?ANy changes needed for inbound and outbound IDoc scenarios transport or they are one and the same?

2.Similarly is the trasport for all the RFC scenarios possible in the same way as that of IDoc scenarios?

Please guide me.

Thanks in advance

Hi SAP User,

Are following things transportable

1.IDoc metadata

If you are talking about IDX2, I dont think it is transportable. If you are talking about IDoc imported in repository, yes it is possible.

2.IDoc settings(partner profile,rfc destination etc)

AFAIK, these are not transportable since ports may be different in different systems.

3.ESR objects pertaininig to IDoc (mapping objects, service interfaces etc)

yes...

4.ID objects pertaining to IDoc(channels etc)

Channels are transportable but they will need to be edited manualy after import.

5.SLD objects pertaining to IDoc(Business systems,SWCV,namespaces)

yes
