Drug Classification Table ???

Hello all, I work at a Health Center and am trying to write a report that lists a patient's medications with the drug classification for each med....e.g.  Amoxicillin is an Antibiotic.  Just a general explanation ......  I can't find a table that gives me this info.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

you may want to look at the US NDC List (can be downloaded as an EXCEL-List here: http://www.fda.gov/drugs/informationondrugs/ucm142438.htm ). When you filter list by SUBSTANCENAME for Amoxicillin, you get all products listed in the US that contain Amoxicillin and you can see the classification in the column PHARM_CLASSES to be "Penicillin-class Antibacterial [EPC],Penicillins [Chemical/Ingredient]"
