Hi,
We are in process of performing OS Migration of the SAP system from
AIX 6.1 to Linux_x64. When running sapinst[part of SWPM 1.0 Sp03/02] in
AIX in export preparation step, the sapinst is crashing and due to this we
are unable to perform export of DB.
The SAP Version is NW 7.3
The AIX is 6.1.
we are suing latest available SWPM patch in SMP i.e SWPM10SP03_9-
20009697.SAR[SW Prov. Mgr. 1.0 SP03 for systems based on NW7.1x or
higher]
The sapinst is carshing with below error:
iauxsysex.c:365:
child /export/tmp/sapinst_exe.43057266.1382168400/sapinst (pid
25755806) has crashed. Executable directory
is /export/tmp/sapinst_exe.43057266.1382168400. Contact Support.
iaextract.c:1094: child has signaled an exec error (-139). Keeping
directory /export/tmp/sapinst_exe.43057266.1382168400
The same issue is occurring when we use Sp02 patch as well.
Could anyone of you help with this issue.
Have raised this already with SAP via OSS message. At present awaiting their response.

Varsha,
You can try the remote GUI method to continue with the migration. Start the sapinst with -nogui on the server and connect to it from a windows servers using the sapinstgui.bat file. You need to provide the server IP and default GUI port (21212) to establish the connection.
We observed the SAPINST crashing on open source platforms due to lack of few library files and other reasons. The remote GUI method helped us and were able to complete the task within the timelines.
Hope it helps.

Srinivas K.

SAP should be pretty quick to get back to you, since you would have already engaged them about your OS/DB migration to get your migration key...

Is the system you are export supported by SWPM? I assume that the NW7.1x SWPM should be able to read the information from an older system, however I could also see that you have to use the NW7.0 SWPM to export the data and then switch to NW7.1x to import.
