A weird problem with FTP Channel: Connect refused

Former Member

Hi PI Gurus,

I work with PI 7.31, which is 3 levels landscape: DEV, QAS and PRD.

In DEV all FTP Channels work fine.

In QAS all FTP Channels have the same configuration as in DEV.

But in the QAS System the FTP Sender and Receiver Channel have the same error: Connect refused.

I ping the channel and get error: unable to create FTP Connection.

I cannot access PI Server and FTP Server.

Firewall problem with FTP Server or anything else?

Thank you for any prompt suggestion!

Regards

Rene

Hello Rene,

This could most probably be a firewall problem. Have you checked with your basis team which FTP ports are allowed on the QA server?

Mark

Hi Rene,

The most probabbly problema is these case are the pointed by Mark and Manigandan. I would only to mention Michal Krawczyk's blog http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/01/18/michals-pi-tips-3-ways-to-check-a...

where you can check three easy ways to test the connection. Also, in this Note 1085539 - XI JDBC/FTP connection Test and XML Validation Application you can download a tool to test the connection.

HI ,

There are two possibilities

1) Open the FTP port in QA system.

2) Firewall blocking

Once you done this in SAP QA, then try to connect to FTP . If connection is ok fine, otherwise check the same in FTP Server.

Port opening in FTP and Firewall blocking in FTP Level and also access permission "Ex:Read, write, " .

Manigandan
