The installation of SAP_GWFND rel. 740 must be configured with a Stack XML

Diagnosis

You have selected the component version SAP_GWFND rel. 740 for installation. The installation of this component version is only possible if the installation tools are configured using a stack description (stack XML) created by the Maintenance Optimizer of SAP Solution Manager. Only this guarantees that the installation is executed consistently.

System Response

The installation is not continued.

Procedure

Use Maintenance Optimizer to create a stack description for the installation of SAP_GWFND rel. 740. Then restart the installation using the stack description. The installation note  gives information on installing and creating the stack description in Maintenance Optimizer.

SAP_GWFND rel. 740 can be applied on systems which is in SAP Netweaver 7.40 or higher (SAP_ABA, SAP_BASIS, SAP_*) all software components should be in release 7.40.

Component SAP_GWFND 740 contains core functional scope of IW_FND 250, GW_CORE 200, IW_BEP 200, and IW_HDB 100.

For installing SAP_GWFND, you need to upgrade all other software components which is hard to find the dependency between the software components, that's the reason it asking to implement along with the stack.xml file.

Please use Maintenance Optimizer of solution manager to generate the stack.xml file which automatically analyze your current release and finds the necessary components that needs to be applied for SAP_GWFND. Download the all the files and implement using SAINT or SUM. Which reduces lot of manual steps and confusion.

The information is correct. Please go to the Maintenance Optimizer of SAP Solution Manager and generate the stack.xml.

Or please ask your system admin to generate the stak.xmk for you. System admin knows how to use the Maintenance Optimizer of SAP Solution Manager.
