Unable to make RFC call Exception: [Character reference "�" is an invalid XML character.]

Hello Experts,

I was running a bapi with no problem , then we decided to make some changes and the ERROR "Unable to make RFC call Exception: [Character reference "&#00" is an invalid XML character.] " is showing up . I looked at the bapi results and everything looks fine . 

Has this happened to anyone of you and if not what might be the problem ?? Please advise .. Thanks

This is due to some of the non unicode character in xml structure passed.

May be here it is \ character in xml is causing that error.
