HOW many characteristics can be used while designing single CVC in DP

Could you please provide me information on maximum or practically how many characteristics can be used while designing single CVC.

Hi Abhimanyu,

You will agree that, as a minimum product and location are the characteristics used for planning in DP.

Depending up on the product hierarchy and customer hierarchy being used by the client and the desire of planning on different levels, we may have a number of characteristics. This will also be partly decided by type of industry the client operates in. 

We need an efficient and effective APO DP design to ensure a long-term stability, scalability and sustainability of the solution. Recommendation will be always to keep minimum characteristics which are indeed used or designed to be used for planning. 

Practically I have operated with maximum of 6 characteristics, out of which, 4 were indeed of practical use
