Hi Experts,
I just started with SAP Duet & Net-weaver Gateway. I would like to know how Duet & Net-weaver Gateway are related, what are the differences between both these platforms?
Thanks,
Naveen Kumar CH
Hello Naveen,
In short: You can consider Duet Enterprise as a Netweaver Gateway consumer platform developed by SAP & Microsoft to consume Gateway's OData services from SharePoint server. Along with this platform for the interaction between SharePoint server and Netweaver Gateway, it has some standard applications like workflow, reporting, user synchronization etc.
You can create OData services in Netweaver Gateway, which can be consumed from SharePoint server directly(in case of SharePoint 2013) or your can convert these OData services to SOAP services (using Duet Enterprise's BDC browser tool) and consume it from SharePoint server(SharePoint 2010). SharePoint server uses BCS to interact with Netweaver Gateway.
