Hi,
US - jurisdiction code is a total of 9 digits.
First two digits represents state, digit 3-5 represents county, 6-9 represents city. 10th digit indicates whether Ship to location is in inside or outside of the city limits.
0 - Outside City limits
1 - Inside City limits
My question is which SAP field triggers whether we have update “0” or “1” as the 10th digit in SAP tax jurisdiction code from Vertex?
Best Regards,
Chandramohan
From what I have seen, all we pass to Vertex are Country, State, ZIP code and City/Town (see here).
For us this seems to be working as Janet mentioned - the last digit may be manually changed to 0. Not sure if we actually do that, but our customer base is not that large, maybe this just never came up.

At least in our instance ECC 6.0, the default returned from Vertex is "1" and you manually can override the "1" to a "0".

Hi Friend,
In Customer Master : General Data Tab we have Tax Jurisdiction Code Field is there, You can update over there.
For Customization : SPRO --> Financial Accounting Global Setting --> Tax on Sales / Purchase --> Basic Setting --> Custom Transaction about tax jurisdiction.
I hope this will help you.

Thanks for your reply.
As per current setup, tax jurisdiction code is determined from Vertex. Vertex team mentioned that first 9 digits are determined based on Postal code and City; 10th digit is not passed correctly from SAP to Vertex. So, system is not updating tax correctly in the sales document.
For instance, system is determining tax jurisdiction value as “4109103301”. Business is saying that tax jurisdiction value should be “4109103300”.
City: Fort mill Postal code: 29707-6542
I would like to know in which SAP field triggers whether we have to populate 1 or 0 as the 10th digit.
Happy weekend,
Best Regards,
Chandramohan
