Hi,
i have configured the technical Monitoring (MAI) in Solman 7.1 SP08 for various systems/products in a large system environment. After adjusting the threshold values to my needs I still receive alerts for one time peaks of metric values. For instance some of the detached disks (usually those working for ORACLE DB) have sometimes an average wait time per disk far above the threshold. But it is no problem for us. Another example are update1 or 2 response times like this:
Is there any way to irgnore those peaks?
Another question: I like to remove some of the metrics from the alert gouping but I want to collect the data. Example: in Technical Instance "SAP ABAP 7.10 and higher" there is alert "High number of ABAP Short Dumps" with the four metrics. I like to remove one of them but I can not find how. Setting the metric to inactiv is not option I want.
Thanks for your help
Michael
Hi,
You can try this by your own custom metric templates generation. dont use the standard one, instead generate your own custom metric with the desire vaile to show off the peak values and also disable te metric for alerts
Details can be found here Create custom metrics and alerts - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki
Thanks
Jansi

Hi Michael,
For the second part of your question.
What about keeping the metric switched on, but turning off the alert?
regards,
David
