SDM not Start in New Solman 7.1

I install new solman 7.1 i send screen shot that only DAA smd not start As java process SLD is work and Start Why?

Hi Nainesh,

From the command prompt, change the directory to Drive:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA97\script and run the script

smdsetup managingconf hostname:"sapms://solman.full.qual.host.name" port:"8101" user:"SMD_ADMIN" pwd:"XXXXXXXX"

and paste us the screenshot.

Hi,

Goto the below directory

Execute the script in /usr/sap/DAA/SMDA97/script

smdsetup.sh managingconf hostname:"give the solman hostname" port:"5XX04" user:"solman_admin" pwd:"password of solman admin" servername:"managed system hostname"

execute it.

Now Restart the Diagnostic agent with daaadm user.

command for the same is

Execute the script in /usr/sap/DAA/SMDA97/exe directory andexecute the below command

stopsap SMDA<instanceid> this will stop the smd agent

startsap SMDA<insatnceid>  this will start the smd agent

Details are written to D:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA97\exe\stopsap.log

D:\usr\sap\DAA\SMDA97\exe>startsap SMDA97 00 ailsaptest

STARTSAP continues...

I dont think that you need this in (00 ailsaptest) there.

Stop an smd agent you just need to give stopsap SMDA97.

same is start smdagent

startsap SMDA97 or startsap 97

Dear Risi I give log when i go to stop

SAPSRVKILL failed on __00: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect., CreateFile failed in plugin_pipefopen()

Error occured when waiting for halt on __00.

sapntwaitforhalt.exe=>sapparam(1c): No Profile used.

sapntwaitforhalt.exe=>sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

running sapsrvkill.exe __00

running sapntwaitforhalt.exe SMDA97 00 ailsaptest 3600

Hi ,

Please just use the below command to stop SMD agent.

stopsap 97 .

or

stopsap SMDA97

you dont need to add the 00 ailsaptest in there.

Hi,

Please try this.

• stopsap SMD97
• Restart the sapstartsrv service
• Please wait till sapstartsrv starts completely
• startsap SMD97

If this works then this is because of the below note.

1903632 - sapcontrol - "CreateFile failed in plugin_pipefopen()" error occurs sporadically

Hi Nainesh,

Its better to uninstall and re-install the diagnostic agent with SWPM.

1. Download diagnostic agent 7.3 from the below location

http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Support Packages and Patches -> Browse our Download Catalog SAP -> Technology Components -> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER -> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 -> Entry by Component -> Agents for Managed systems -> DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.3 -> <choose operating system of managed>

2. Use Software Provisioning Manager - SWPM10SP03_9-20009707.SAR

download from Support Packages and Patches - S" SL TOOLSET" SL TOOLSET 1.0" Entry by Component" Software Provisioning Manager- Your operating system

3. Download any one of below kernel

-- SWPM 1.0 SP3 720 Kernel, unicode, 32-bit

-- SWPM 1.0 SP3 720 Kernel, unicode, 64-bit

-- SWPM 1.0 SP3 720_EXT Kernel, unicode, 64-bit (refer to sap note: 1858920 - Diagnostics Agent installation with SWPM)

4. Use SWPM to uninstall the existing diagnostic agent and reinstall using the same

Hi Nainesh,

Just before you go for uninstall you go for server reboot and see if the issue fixes.

I know that there is another server on this host so you need to think if you can stop it.

Please let me know what happened on the earlier steps that were suggested.

Hello

I would consider the above suggestions for re-installation only if that is the ultimate solution.

Else I consider them as the laziest recommendations.

For sure there are logs which can guide to fix the issue rather than re-installing the SMD agent

Have you checked the latest logs at /usr/sap/SMD/SMDA98/work ?

I suggest you to check the logs dev_smdagent and jvm_smdagent.out

If there are memory related issues then I would check the memory configuration for the SMD agent in the smdagent.properties file present at /usr/sap/SMD/SMDA98/SMDAgent
