Hi experts,

   I need to monitor cluster nodes in OS07 and I follow sapnote_0000209834, sapnote_0000957455 and sapnote_0000657999 and want to install SAPCCMSR and saposcol on both nodes. However, I found kernel 7.21 ext UC does not provide saposcol. What should I do?

Hi Dennis,

please look at the SAP note Note 1713986 - Installation of kernel 721 (EXT)

         5.7 Configuration of the CCMS central monitoring

and tell us your product release and netweaver release.

Hi Dennis,

Just curious, could you please let me know from where you found, that kernel 7.21 ext UC does not provide saposcol.

Hi Karthikeyan,

   This is very confusing.

note 1309499:

Consequently as of with 7.1 SAPOSCOL is not part of the SAP Kernel anymore

but integral part of SAPHOSTAGENT.

note 1257308:

For Windows note that the "Hardware Info" functionality of sapntchk is

integrated now into sapocol when using SAPHOSTAGENT (see SAP Note 1313537).

If you are using the Microsoft Cluster Solution (MSCS) see SAP Note 536954

for all the steps the MSCS environment requires.

note 536954:

Generate a profile for the agent (sapccmsr.pfl) in the directory

into which you have copied the sapccmsr agent. The profile must

contain the following entries:

SAPLOCALHOST=<virtual DB HOST>

DIR_PERF=<path of agent work directory (on a shared disk)

DIR_WORK_SAPOSCOL=<path of saposcol work directory>

exe/saposcol=<complete name of saposcol executable>

---

What does this mean?

exec/sapsocol = <SAPHostAgent> = "C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\saphostexec.exe" ???

Hi Dennis,

536954 which is valid till the release 7.0, you system is at 7.02 lets not worry about it,

1309499 - clearly tells SAPOSCOL is not part of SAP Kernel any more, you can cross check in your system in kernel location Drive:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 you can't find the saposcol.exe

whereas, look at the SAPHOSTAGENT location - C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe which has saposcol.exe which is fully integrated with the host agent. Also please look into this diagram, which shows SAPOSCOL is part of SAPHOSTAGENT.

Hi Karthikeyan,

   Do you mean OS07 is replaced by RZ20? So I should not use OS07 to monitor OS performance?

---

I use the configuration below to register CCM agent and I can see a new entry in OS07 but there is no data at all. Should I add double quotes like this?

exe/saposcol="C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\saposcol.exe"

Or anything wrong in my configuration?

---

SAPLOCALHOST=<host>

DIR_PERF=c:\usr\sap\prfclog

#DIR_PERF=C:\usr\sap\prfclog

SAPSYSTEMNAME=TCP

DIR_WORK_SAPOSCOL=C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\

#exe/saposcol=C:\windows\SapCluster\saposcol.exe

exe/saposcol=C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\saposcol.exe

Hi Dennis,

RZ20 is for configuring CCMS alert monitor as always in all release, you can use OS07 for operating system monitor.

Try this goto C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\ and start the saposcol by typing

saposcol -d and then type start, try checking OS07 for any data.

But, i am not seeing transaction OS07 in SAP Netweaver 7.31 release.

Hi Karthikeyan,

   My small note for sharing.

  1. 1. RZ21: create CSMREG user and download csmconf
  2. 2. Download sapccmsr non-unicode
  3. 3. Register with sapccmsr.pfl
  4. 4. Stop SAPhostagent, start sapccmsr.99 service first and then start SAPhostagent.

SAPLOCALHOST=<host>

DIR_PERF=c:\usr\sap\prfclog

SAPSYSTEMNAME=TCP

DIR_WORK_SAPOSCOL=C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\

#exe/saposcol=C:\windows\SapCluster\saposcol.exe

exe/saposcol="C:\Program Files\SAP\hostctrl\exe\saphostexec.exe"
